The game and where it comes from

Doodle Jump is the vertical jumping game that Lima Sky released for phones in April 2009, and a browser edition has been playable since January 2017. The build on this page carries both the Lima Sky logo and the CloudGames logo on its loading screens. Your task is to take the Doodler as high as it can go on a never-ending stack of ledges. Jumping is automatic, so all you decide is where the Doodler drifts between bounces, and the climb lasts until you miss.

Controls

  • Arrow keys (left/right) steer the Doodler sideways.
  • Left mouse click fires a pellet upward from its nose to deal with enemies above you.

The settings screen has a directional shooting switch and a sound toggle. The code also contains a tilt mode with a calibrate button for devices that report their orientation.

Things you meet on the way up

Platforms

Plain green ledges hold you every time. Some ledges slide from side to side, brown ones crack apart under your feet, and white platforms show up as well. The game counts how many platforms you break, and it even hands out an achievement for smashing a lot of them in a single run.

Boosts

Springs throw you higher than a normal bounce. A propeller hat lets you hover upward for a while, and a jetpack gives a longer and faster climb. Rocket flights are counted among the statistics too.

Dangers

Monsters sit on or between platforms. Touching one from the side or below ends the run, but landing on top of it squashes it, and a shot also removes it. Watch out for UFOs, which abduct the Doodler, and for black holes, which swallow it. For every run the game logs the cause of death, sorted into four types: a missed platform, a monster collision, a UFO abduction or a black hole.

Scores, stats and achievements

You type a name for the high score table, which has a local list on your device and a global one. A detailed stats page tracks games played, average and best score, total and longest play time, total jumps, monsters shot and jumped on, and the number of jetpack and propeller hat flights.

The achievements give you goals beyond height. Examples include Serial Springer for landing on three springs in a row, Monster Bouncer for jumping on ten monsters in one game, Sharp Shooter for hitting five monsters in a row without a miss, Old-Fashioned Jumper for passing three jetpacks without picking them up, and UFO Abduction Survivor.

Tips

  • Land on monsters instead of shooting them when you can; it saves time and counts toward the bouncing achievements.
  • Do not count on a brown platform as a landing spot. Aim past it to a green one.
  • Grab a propeller hat or jetpack when it appears unless you are chasing the Old-Fashioned Jumper achievement.
  • Look at your stats after a session to see what ends most of your runs, then play around that weakness.

Questions about Doodle Jump

Is Doodle Jump unblocked at school?

Doodle Jump runs in an ordinary browser tab from elasticman.org, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.

Which keys move the Doodler?

The Left and Right arrow keys steer it, and a left mouse click shoots at monsters above you. The Doodler jumps by itself.

What ends a run in Doodle Jump?

Four things: falling after a missed platform, bumping into a monster instead of landing on it, a UFO abduction, or a black hole.

Which power-ups can you find?

Springs, the propeller hat and the jetpack all push you higher, and the stats page also tracks rocket flights.

Does this Doodle Jump save high scores?

Yes. You type a name, and scores go into a local table and a global table, alongside a stats page and a list of achievements.
